Beautiful interactive displays tell stories of the St. Louis River Estuary\, Lake Superior\, and the communities on their shores. The exhibit hall includes a play area for young children\, maps to orient you to the largest estuary on Lake Superior\, and information to help you get out and explore. \nWhat’s an Estuarium?\nA gathering place for learning and play! The term is a combination of words “estuary” and “museum.” Join us in the exhibit hall to learn more about how fresh water\, ecology\, and culture coexist and thrive in the Lake Superior watershed. \nThe Lake Superior Estuarium has scattered seating available and two single-user accessible bathrooms. Check the Lake Superior Reserve Event’s page for the full list of open days this season. \nLocation\nLake Superior Estuarium\n3 Marina Drive\, Superior\, WI 54880. The Estuarium is hosted by the Lake Superior National Estuarine Research Reserve and is a red building on Barker’s Island in Superior.

SUMMARY:River Walks: Practicing mindfulness in the outdoors
DESCRIPTION:Being outdoors can help us slow our minds and bring our attention to what is happening in the present moment. Take a moment to slow down and experience guided mindfulness practice in an outdoor setting with staff from UW-Superior’s Pruitt Center\, and learn some ways to think about incorporating mindfulness in natural spaces into your life. Whether you are experienced or new to mindfulness practice\, you are welcome and encouraged to attend this session! \n\n\n\nPlease park and meet at the Lake Superior Reserve Estuarium (3 Marina Drive) at 3:00pm. This event will take place outdoors; we will walk short distances to different locations on the northwest end of Barkers Island. Please come prepared with comfortable clothing and footwear. You may wish to bring a blanket or soft pad for comfort while seated.
