The Rivers2Lake Education Mentor provides leadership and support to teachers enrolled in the Lake Superior Rivers2Lake Education Program. By providing mentoring in outdoor and inquiry-based learning focused on freshwater estuaries and Lake Superior, and assisting teachers with integration of Rivers2Lake topics across the curriculum, they work to improve academic learning, enhance engagement, and build a stronger sense of place in students and teachers. Based with the Superior Rivers Watershed Association, this position works in close collaboration with the staff at the Lake Superior National Estuarine Research Reserve who operate the Rivers2Lake program, the National Park Service, teachers, school administration, and multiple partner organizations.
