Student Interpretive Specialist

The Student Interpretive Specialist welcomes visitors to the Lake Superior Estuarium, and provides visitor services and orientation to the National Estuarine Research Reserve system, the St. Louis River Estuary, and Lake Superior. This position greets the public, answers questions, handles gift sales and assists the public, including children, while they are in the Estuarium. They assist with Reserve educational efforts and may prepare and present short educational programs. They also handle cash and merchandise, maintain displays, perform light cleaning, and create audio/visuals such as posters or social media campaigns for events. They are responsible for providing excellent customer service to visitors and work independently while communicating clearly and regularly with Reserve staff and the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Student class schedules on Fridays or Saturdays may be accommodated.

The position runs from September 7th, 2018 through May 25th, 2019.
