UW-Extension to Host Community Listening Session Regarding Husky Fire

An opportunity for the community to come together, discuss the recent fire at the Husky Superior Refinery, and identify unanswered questions will be hosted by UW-Extension and The Lake Superior National Estuarine Research Reserve. Local elected officials and environmental agencies responding to the incident have been invited. Agencies attending will be given time to discuss their response, timeline, and how they disseminate information. Following presentations, small groups will be formed, and a facilitator will be present to guide discussion and capture key ideas and concerns. The community listening session will be held on Monday, May 14, 6 – 8 PM at Superior Middle School in the Event Center / Cafeteria. No RSVP is necessary.
