The Lake Superior Ice Festival is a family-friendly fun event coordinated by the community to attract people of all ages and abilities to share in Superior’s passion for all things winter and come together to celebrate the coolest aspects of our City. The Reserve is honored to be a part of this event and to connect further with our community.
As part of the Ice Festival, the Lake Superior Estuarium is open on Friday, January 27th from 5pm to 8pm and Saturday, January 28th from 10am to 5pm. The Lake Superior Estuarium is a gateway to the headwaters of the Great Lakes. Beautiful interactive displays tell stories of the St. Louis River Estuary, Lake Superior, and the communities on their shores.
The exhibit hall includes a play area for young children, maps to orient you to the largest estuary on Lake Superior, and information to help you get out and explore. Take some time to warm up and learn about all the great things happening on the St. Louis River Estuary in the Lake Superior Estuarium.
Visit LakeSuperiorIceFestival.com for more event details. Click on “Events” in the upper navigation bar to learn about all the activities happening as part of the Ice Festival.
Reserve staff have built a great obstacle course outside the Lake Superior Estuarium from 10 am – 4 pm on Saturday, January 28th to put your snowshoeing skills to the test! Snowshoes will be available for use on the obstacle course or bring your own.
